Thanks to a terrifying earthquake and an unplanned week camping on the shaking ground of the Australian embassy our plans to head to India by bus had to change. We spent the week in the embassy with approximately 70 other stranded Aussies all trying to reroute their planned trips.

After paying a highly inflated price for a ticket (because a natural disaster means airline prices shoot through the roof) just to get out of the country as soon as possible we arrived in Dubai. We were always planning on heading to Turkey after India and going via Dubai was the cheapest option, plus it meant we got to see Bretts cousin Scott which is always fun.
Friday brunch in Dubai is a must! We headed to candy pants brunch! $100 all you can eat and drink for 4 hours! We indulged in a few to many but much needed cocktails and far to much food before heading to the after party next door.
Feeling a little worse for wear the following morning we spent that day and the next few days relaxing at the beach, in the malls and exploring the bazaars before jumping on a plane to Istanbul!
