We arrived from the hustle and bustle of Saigon to the slightly fresher air of Nha Trang. Beautiful blue water and white sand! It was nice to be near the ocean. We walked for ages with our packs on to find our hotel and after about an hour dropped our stuff and went straight for a swim.
We hired a scooter and ventured about 40km out to doc let beach, it was a terrifying drive but worth it when we arrived. We then stopped in at the Ba Ho waterfalls. There are three levels of the waterfalls. The third level required us to climb up steep rock faces. Brett decided to jump from the edge, I just went for a wallow. 😊 The waterfalls at the bottom were pretty dirty and there was a lot of rubbish so it was worth climbing to the top level where it was much cleaner.
We ate some great seafood in Nha Trang! Some of the best food so far. We had an entire fish for less than ten dollars and a three course meal for about the same!
We did try to get to the islands but wanted to avoid a tourist boat/tour. Unfortunately we couldn’t find a local fisherman to take us out. Brett did try swimming out to a boat parked off the beach but the fisherman spoke no English and when we thought he understood he turned away and drove off with our map. No problem though, we spent the rest of the day swimming in the beach x
