2100 sleeper bus to Nha Trang. Booked through local travel agent. Prices were higher due to Chinese New Year. We paid 360 000 dong each for the reclining sleeper seat on a 8 hour bus ride that took closer to 10 hours.
Jumped on the bus, found our seat/bed and thought it would be a relaxing night traveling to our next destination, little did we realise that the bus would blast Asian pop music for most of the night, stop along the way to pick up locals and crash into a scooter about 20 minutes into the trip. We stopped twice to fix flat tyres and a couple more times to have a break. Every time we stopped the neon lights of the bus would be turned on even at 0200 in the morning. I had a lovely local lady who didn’t speak any English keep turning to me to show me on her phone where we were and try to befriend me on Facebook.
It was a night of broken sleep but for the most part it was pretty comfy with the help of an eye mask and ear plugs. It was also a great way to combine the cost of a nights stay and travel.
Morning on the bus after a long night
