CARING FOR YOUR TURKISH TEXTILES
Like all objects meant to last a lifetime, your Turkish towels need proper care and a little extra maintenance from time to time.
Here we share how to regularly care for your pieces, and we address some common Turkish towel issues that you can take care of on your own.
I don’t know how to wash my Turkish towel/blanket/scarf.
For all pieces (except silk!), machine wash and tumble dry low or lay flat to dry. No special detergent needed. And for the love of Turkish towels, no fabric softener, dryer sheets, or bleaches! Line dry.
The tassels on my Turkish towel/blanket/scarf have come undone.
This is a simple fix. Follow this step-by-step guide to repair an undone tassel on your Turkish towel, blanket, or scarf.
1.     Divide the loose threads into two roughly equal sections.
2.     Twist the two sections separately in a clockwise direction until     each piece is twisted to the ends.
3.     Twist the two sections together in the opposite (counter-    clockwise) direction until the two sections are twisted     completely.
4.     Tie a knot at the end, and you’re finished!
5.     Enjoy your Turkish towel/blanket/scarf.
Help: a loop has gotten pulled on my favorite Turkish     towel/blanket/scarf.
Easy fix: Simply snip the loop to be even with the rest of the loops. This also works on flat-woven Turkish towels.  Nervous you might do permanent damage? Don’t be – you can’t make a hole in a hand woven piece.
I’ve spilled something on my Turkish towel. What can I use to treat the stain?
Use any store-bought stain treatment, but be careful to avoid bleach. A paste made with baking soda and vinegar also works wonders and is an all-natural way to remove stains.
My white Turkish towels could use some whitening. Can I use bleach?
NO! Bleach weakens fibers making them less absorbent and more fragile. We recommend adding 1/4 cup of baking soda and one cup of white vinegar to a wash.
How do I stop my towel from malting?
Use baking soda. This will help loosen up fibers and clean off any chemicals or grime, making your towels softer. Just mix half a cup of baking soda with your normal amount of detergent. As an added bonus, baking soda naturally eliminates musty odors that may have built up – say, if you left damp towels lying around in a gym bag or in a pile on the bathroom floor.
Bamboo
Bamboo fabrics will maintain their special qualities when washed in cold to warm water (up to 60 degrees Celsius) with a gentle detergent, free of bleach. You may want to use a gentle cycle for some finished garments and fabric types. If necessary, bamboo fabrics can be dried in clothes dryer on the cool setting.
Washing
We recommend washing rather than dry cleaning for our Bamboo fabrics. Use the gentle wash cycle or hand wash and use a good brand of gentle soap powder or liquid. Do not use bleach as it can cause discoloring.
Drying
Line drying in the sun is best, if possible. Machine drying is ok but don’t over do it! Over drying can result in damaged fabrics.
